OddJobs is a local task marketplace application owned and operated by BusinessBrain Ltd, a company registered in New Zealand.

When you use the OddJobs app, we may collect the following types of information:

• Account information: Your name, email address, and phone number when you register an account.
• Profile details: Any information you choose to add to your public profile, such as a bio, profile photo, or skills.
• Location: Your location or approximate location, used for task matching and displaying jobs near you.
• Task listings: The content of tasks you post, including descriptions, photos you upload, budget, and location details.
• Messages: Communications you send or receive through the in-app messaging system.
• Reviews: Ratings and written reviews you submit or receive.
• Device information: Technical information such as your device type, operating system, app version, and IP address.
• Payment-related metadata: Information related to payment transactions processed through Stripe, such as transaction IDs and dates. We do not store full card numbers.

All payments on OddJobs are processed by Stripe, a third-party payment provider. OddJobs does not store, process, or have direct access to your full payment card details. Stripe's privacy policy applies to any information you provide to them during payment processing.

We may retain metadata about payment transactions (such as transaction IDs, amounts, and dates) for record-keeping, dispute resolution, and fraud prevention purposes.

We use your personal information to:

• Create and manage your OddJobs account.
• Connect customers with local taskers on the marketplace.
• Process task bookings and facilitate job arrangements.
• Process payments and manage payouts.
• Provide customer support and respond to enquiries.
• Improve platform safety and moderate content.
• Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and prohibited activities.
• Send you notifications about your account, bookings, messages, and platform updates.
• Comply with our legal obligations.

Messages sent between users on OddJobs are private communications between those users. However, OddJobs may review message content where necessary for the following purposes:

• Investigating reported safety or abuse concerns.
• Resolving disputes between users.
• Detecting fraud or policy violations.
• Complying with legal obligations.

We do not sell or share message content with third parties for advertising purposes.

OddJobs uses location information to match customers with nearby taskers and to display approximate job areas on the marketplace. Your precise address is never shown publicly. Location data is used solely to facilitate the task marketplace and improve the relevance of listings shown to you.

We may share your information with the following third parties as necessary to operate the platform:

• Stripe: For payment processing and payout management.
• Supabase / cloud hosting providers: For secure data storage and hosting of the OddJobs platform.
• Analytics or crash reporting providers: Where used, to help us understand app performance and fix technical issues.

We do not sell your personal information to any third party. We only share data with third parties as described above or where required by law.

You can delete your OddJobs account at any time from within the app by going to Settings → Account → Delete Account.

If you are unable to access the app, you may request account deletion by emailing us at sales@businessbrain.co.nz.

Please note that some records may be retained where required for legal, payment, dispute, fraud prevention, safety, or tax purposes. See Section 9 for details.

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with services. After you delete your account, we may retain certain records for the following reasons:

• Legal obligations or regulatory requirements.
• Fraud prevention and platform safety.
• Ongoing or potential disputes between users.
• Payment records required for tax or accounting purposes.
• Any other purpose as permitted by the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

Under the Privacy Act 2020 (New Zealand), you have the right to:

• Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
• Request correction of any information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
• Ask how your information is being used.
• Make a complaint to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner if you believe your privacy rights have been breached.

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, disclosure, or loss. This includes using encrypted connections, secure cloud infrastructure, and access controls. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes through the app or via email. Continued use of OddJobs after changes have been made constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
