Yes. It is completely free to post a job on OddJobs. You only pay the agreed amount when you accept a Tasker’s offer. There is no obligation to accept any offer.

When am I charged?

You are charged when you accept a Tasker’s offer. The agreed amount is paid securely through OddJobs using Stripe. This secures the payment before the Tasker begins work — so the Tasker knows they will be paid, and you know the payment is held until the job is done.

Where does my money go?

Your payment is processed securely by Stripe. The payment is secured when you accept an offer and released to the Tasker through Stripe once you confirm the job has been completed.

Stripe is one of the world’s leading payment infrastructure companies and handles payments for businesses around the world. OddJobs uses Stripe to securely process payments. Stripe is certified as a PCI Level 1 Service Provider — the highest level of payment security certification.

Does OddJobs see my card number?

No. Your card details are handled securely by Stripe. OddJobs does not store your full card details. Sensitive payment information is processed by Stripe rather than being stored directly by OddJobs.

Can a Tasker receive my money before doing the job?

No. The payment is secured when you accept the offer, but it is not released to the Tasker until you confirm the job has been completed. This protects you — the Tasker is motivated to complete the work, and you have the opportunity to raise an issue if something goes wrong.

What happens when the job is complete?

Once the agreed work is finished, you confirm completion in the OddJobs app. The payment is then released to the Tasker through Stripe. You can also leave a review and rebook the Tasker if you were happy with the work.

What if I’m not happy with the work?

If you’re not happy with the work, you can raise an issue rather than simply releasing payment. OddJobs can review the job details, in-app messages and before/after photos to help determine the appropriate action. Contact us at hello@oddjobsapp.co.nz if you need help.

What happens if the Tasker doesn’t show up?

If a Tasker doesn’t show up, you can report them through the app or by email. Since your payment is secured through Stripe and only released when you confirm completion, you are not paying for work that wasn’t done. You can also choose a different Tasker from the offers you received.

Why are before and after photos used?

Before and after photos create a clear record of the work. They help protect both you and the Tasker if a question ever arises about what was done. Taskers take a before photo before starting and an after photo when the job is complete, all through the OddJobs app.

Is my address public?

No. Your exact address is never shown publicly on the marketplace. Only an approximate area is visible. Share your precise address with a Tasker only after you’ve accepted their offer and it’s needed for the job.

Can I talk to a Tasker before choosing them?

Yes. You can message any Tasker inside the OddJobs app before accepting their offer. Ask questions, clarify details, and get a feel for the person — all with no obligation to accept.

How do reviews work?

After a completed job, both customers and Taskers can leave a review. Reviews must be honest and based on your genuine experience. You can read a Tasker’s reviews and check their rating before accepting an offer.

Can I report or block somebody?

Yes. You can report any user, listing, or message through the app or by email. You can also block any user you don’t wish to interact with — it’s immediate, private, and permanent.

Can I rebook the same Tasker?

Yes. If you found someone great, you can rebook them any time through the OddJobs app. Many customers build a list of reliable locals they trust and use again and again.
